How to Become Your Best Self – 10 Empowering Tips

Why would you want to become your best self at the beginning? Because your life might be in a stagnant situation, you are in so much anxiety and in a feeling of hopelessness in your life, also at the same time it is the first key factor and important step to make positive change in your life. The idea of becoming your best self is a journey whose core focus is on personal growth, development, mental and physical well being and making change which makes it easier for you to achieve your desired life goals and visions into reality. 

We all do have our vision for the desired life which we wanna live to our fullest but at any point of life when we feel stuck and we did not upgrade yourself according to the demand of time, that is when the personal development and the becoming best version of us comes in consideration from our mind and realization. Which is absolutely good thing by the way, cuz many of our friends and family and close ones don’t even understand the need for taking this kind of challenge , and for that result they miss out lot of opportunity and enjoyment and fulfillment from life. But as you have clicked on this article and definitely I’m sure you are well aware of the importance and felt the need to become your better verison, and that is where comes my expertise and guidance with my real life knowledge and experience.

Practice of embracing the Self- Love:

Self- Love is kind of pre requisite for becoming the best version of yourself, because self love is associate with taking yourself kindly and with empathy , accepting you of who you are and your shortcomings, being cheerful and happy for the unique ability and skills you have – so overall this attitude helps you to your personal growth and keep you in a state of being happiness in needed time. So, how can you practice this self love right? It’s easy , cuz self love is like taking time,carefulness, awareness, staying in the moment of life, just like if you ever had some flower garden in your backyard or something like that, i had a mini garden, since childhood i was in love with flowers and trees and animals etc, self love is similar, if you love a flower you give water to its tree but if you like a flower you pluck it from the tree and destroy the tree to death. Self love is something like that, if you love yourself you will take care of your needs you will be assertive towards you you will not let anyone to let you down, you will practise to say no when your burden kept getting heavy and heavy , instead of being undisciplined and making you got weak like a dying tree, you nurture your inner self, your mind body and spirit with proper care and being kind to yourself. Then the flower or positive result will bloom from you. 

You will be a master at becoming your best self if you start by loving your own self, listen to me, define the best version of you, based on your own judgement !! do not compare or look for others of what they did to become this or that, na na, just stand infront of the mirror and look at yourself, and then ask – what is your own definition of the best version of yourself? Your best self is not what others want to see from you, maybe your best self is what your soul wants you to be, dont try to be fit in the society don’t try to wear a mask, just let all go and be your self, it will be much more easy to walk forward then. 

Take a notebook and write down your strengths, weaknesses, what triggers you, what makes you happy, what makes you unhappy , which environment is stressful for you, which surroundings makes you joyful and thrilling and chill.. So and so on, only you can do these assessment on you cuz you are the one who knows you better than anyone else. 

Let go of your past mistakes if you wanna love yourself first, if you would truly love yourself you should have already done that. Mistakes and error makes us human, remember that. Forgive yourself.

Then learn to say “No” when needed. Be more kind from being continuous people pleaser to your own , saying no saves lot of positive energy and negative influence, Saying “No “ doesn’t mean you cant do this or that, it means that you are not okey to let yourself down by being people pleaser, it does also mean you value your time energy and mental peace above all. Thats self respect. 

Learn how to cruise through Failure and Difficulty

Failure and difficulty or setbacks are the part and parcel of our life, having faced with these things are also pre requisite of being successful and happy in life. Failure doesn’t mean its the end, no its not, its just a part of learning curve. In our current times 2025 life is hyper fast paced, our challenges are not the same challenges as it were in 1964, everything hits hard on us weather it is your next final exam or job interview or your relationship inner struggle, failure and difficulty hits us as fast as life goes. But everytime you stubble upon these setbacks it is not the end, it is similar like the levelling up your life. Actually failure and setbacks are necessity for self growth, because we extract our valuable life’s lesson and wisdom from it, which we would never had if we never had to go through this passage! 

In order to navigate , battle or handle the hardship, failure and difficulties in life , the first step you can do is to change your perception, instead of asking wrong question like – “ why me” “i have failed” kind of these into “ what lesson i can take from this situation” “how could i do better if similar challenges comes to my life again (trust me it will come again)” , your jobs interview didn’t go well , may be you failed to delivery your project on time, may be due to poor time management was the cause, may be your procrastination was the reason for bad results in your exam .. these are the feedback you must ask yourself, instead of being despair and stressed.
Sharpen your skills like you sharpen your kitchen knife, simple, let the next challenge cut like a hot knife in butter, its easy if you can identify the root cause of problem first and now you do sp – ? congratulations. See all the time due to failure you were sad, but i can see a little smile in your face while you are reading 🙂!

Talk with your family , talk with your mom or your siblings, bestie, take feedback from them, take their support also. Also keep in mind that growth or success or progress is not a straight forward curve, it is  a zigzag curve in the graph, there will be ups and downs, so when you are on those curves or waves don’t give up and don’t harshly criticize yourself on the journey. Remember you are not failing, you are levelling up.

Accept and Embrace your authentic self

Embracing your authentic self is the next step if you wanna become your best version, cuz the world is now living under filter, in social media , every image or video is filtered , it’s hard to find real things even now a days, most of the things we see are not what they really are. Likewise, don’t wear a mask in your life to the world, accept your own self which is true you, the pros, cons and strength and weaknesses, everything.

Looking for perfection and being perfect all the time is itself a negative thing , perfect doesn’t exist. Perhaps, accepting your true authentic self which is linked to your best version is related to accepting your imperfections gracefully with happiness. You had better always treat yourself with kindness and love which you would love to do with others of your surroundings.

Try to learn and understand who you are beyond your society’s/surrounding/nearest environments  expectations, give attention to the things which matters the most. For instance what are your values, what are your passions. Don’t always look for outside validation, rather you can practise a beautiful thing like self validation based on the things you have- like your worth, values etc. regardless of what others think of you. 

At the same time you can set up boundaries with the people who make you feel worthless if you don’t obey their way of thinking / fit in their boxes or something like that. Let the growth mindset be cultivated inside of  your mind and start growing from then. Continuous learning and growth is part and parcel to accept your true self and becoming your best version which you wanna become. 

Build Resilience within you for Uncertain Times

Remember tough time don’t last but tough people do! If you wanna become your best version of yourself, you have to have the capability to be resilient during tough times, and to develop this resilience inside of you requires a strong mindset which you can start developing from today. Yes life is highly unpredictable sometimes and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed during this time, however, building resilience within you will make it easy to go through this period. You will be helped by staying hopeful, and get inspiration to move forward in your life despite being in difficulties. 

Train your mind like you train your body by saying that, changing is an ever happening phenomenon, change will happen in our life , nothing will stay same as it is forever. So if instead of accepting change , you start resisting the uncertain changes then it will be difficult to manage stress and in fact stress will increase. Instead you can ask yourself- what I can learn from this , how can I be more strong during this period and so on. Being emotionally aware is another element for building resilience. Acknowledge your emotional state of being instead of ignoring them or masking them with something else. 

Prepare your Goals with a Purpose:

We all make goals , sometimes without purpose or sometimes with purpose but while setting up goals combined with proper conscious purpose then life becomes more manageable and success becomes more easy to reach. This is how with the time and effort our best version comes out from us. Prepare your goals with small actionable steps which will be easy and achievable for you to keep on going. Then after certain repetition  your goal will be achieved. For instance if you set up goal of going to the gym without a purpose, then after few days you will be demotivated and become overburdened with routines and then give up but  consequently, if you set up your goals as you are going to lose weight in next 4 months, then first 7 days you are going to achieve this this and this, then your weight loss goals will be enjoyable and achievable. Also keep in mind to set goals which will align with your values.

Practice of being positive and building positive habits:

Another important factor to become the best version of yourself is to cultivate and build positive habits in your daily routine. Positive routine building journey starts with building a positive mindset. Be grateful for simple things you have. Be grateful for absolutely nothing. Start appreciating your surroundings and your family friends for being there with you. Build small positive habits for each day to keep going. Keep your environment supportive with your goals and vision. If you wanna lose weight, remove soda or any unhealthy items from your room or reach. Keep fruits and flowers instead. These are small positive upgrades which you need to sync with your life to build positive habits and these small steps are truly rewarding in journey of becoming best version.

Make your mental health taking care as top most priority

Taking care of mental health is not a luxury, it is essential to function properly as a human. Being burned out by overworking and stress is not going to bring the best out of you. Take a day break or 20 minutes every day for self care specially directed towards mental health to keep in balance and fix if not. Take a good shower, go walk in to the nature, meditate, practice mindfulness, do some journaling – these are the some components for mental health . Do some stretching, breathing exercise, look at the sky and far distances to relax eye muscles and relieve stress in the morning. 

Surround yourself with Likeminded & Positive Individuals

You will become someone with whom you spend most of the time of your life. If you spend time with a depressed individual, you will find yourself in a depressed situation. If you spend people who are positive, optimistic and have a healthy mind and body, you will automatically attract those things in your life too. Some people lift us up and others push us down, some cheer when we succeed, some criticize us when we have a bad day with their negative influences. Spend time with individuals who support your life’s journey who have the same wavelength as you and avoid those who are toxic and drain your energy. Keep yourself in a positive environment which is encouraging and supportive. A positive person will always lift you up and support you with your goals and aspirations of life, will constructively criticize you for your flaws and drawbacks, not to break you but to make you a better version of yourself by fixing your shortcomings. On the other hand, negative people will dump their negative burden to your own path and want to live off you and make you feel guilty for being who you are and also for their problems and failures. A negative person will stop your life’s growth and success and also you will be depressed for no reason and it will be difficult for you to become the best version of yourself. 

Be Mindful and Stay in the Present

If you are always depressed about your past and anxious about your future and have no idea what is happening at present at the moment you are doing right now, then you will miss a lot of life’s opportunity and growth , life’s joy and gifts and chance to become your best version. It is very important to become mindful of what is  going on right now with you, be mindful when you are eating, be mindful when you are walking, see your steps, look around you , look at those trees, birds, think, how perfectly they are doing their job and being happy. Mindfulness and being in the present moment is very helpful tool to be grounded and you will appreciate many blessings which are present with you and all around you which you used to overlook all the time. Your stress will be gone and the expansion of your mind and heartfelt gratefulness will remove stress anxiety and make you more optimistic and capable to succeed in life and you will be bring the best out of yourself. 

Activate your Physical Workout Routine

Do you know you can excrete a big amount of the toxins , microplastic and chemicals from your blood, liver and body just by sweating? And how can you sweat ? yes you do have to do physical exercise, I’m not talking about some meditation and stress or something like this. I’m talking about exercise which will make your heart run fast and you will be sweating like there is no other day. Running, jumping or pull ups push ups – these are some of the physical exercises you can do to be in shape and kick out toxins from your body, stay in shape, be fit and keep building your dreams while becoming your best version.
