30 Day Self Improvement Challenge: Your Guide to Personal Growth

My lovely dears, I welcome all of you today in my new article. So, I have decided to write about a 30 day self improvement challenge and I welcome my dear readers to take this new transformational journey with me. The reason I have decided to write about this self improvement challenge is because I myself have tried this challenge to improve my core being and set myself up in a disciplined pathway and is guaranteed constant improvement to my body and mind. And throughout this 30 day self improvement challenge, when I started to observe the visible changes within me in last 30 days which is really positive improvement and I want to demonstrate this to my lovely reader so that you also can improve your life. And if you have decided that yes you have to do something to change the stagnation of the life and you genuinely want to see a new version or better version of yourself in the next month or the next year, then my dear you are in the right place. Let’s go with this article.

30-Day Self-Improvement Challenge

Why this “30” days !:

A genuine question might peep through your mind that, why 30 days , why not 7 or 10 days. Well let me tell you, 30 days is long enough for a person to establish or cultivate a meaningful habits because over short period of time no transformation is absorbed by our body and mind altogether, you might call this as our humane limitation, but i don’t consider this a limitation but i believe that over a definite period of time what we cultivate within ourselves , stays longer with us even though we try to abandon that routine or habits, those hard work keep driving us towards the continued goals. Which is why I chose this minimum timeline as 30 days. 

Ok so, I’m starting step by step action below- 

Day 1: Set up Your Intentions focused on Self Improvement challenge

This is the most important part of your next self improvement journey. You have to set up your intention towards this self improvement challenge. Now you might ask, why I would have to set up an intention before anything else !!
Let me tell you, it is our mind and subconscious that always drive us towards what we make input to our brain. If you give input to your brain that “ I’m gonna take the self improvement challenge over the next 30 days” then your body and mind will set themselves up for this journey with you, otherwise you will feel that your body and mind is detached from you. Trust me , this kind of feelings is real and its okey to have them but now you know the solution. 
So take so quiet time to yourself and write down some of your goals in your notepad that you want to achieve so much, no matter how small or how big these goals are, just write them down. Just make sure that whatever you are writing, resonate with your heart and mind thats it.
For instance: “ I wanna feel (XYZ) about myself by the end of the next 30 days. Or, I want to be more productive at my work, I want to be more organize in my day to day life , I want to be more loving towards myself, etc. 

Day 2-3: Remove unnecessary things from your personal space

Unnecessary things and an unorganized environment only leads to chaos in our mind which leads to more chaos, which is why it is important to dedicate your next 48 hours to this issue. If you are distracted by all the disruption and unorganized unnecessary things around you then you can not be able to focus on yourself and your productivity ever.

There might be clothes in your wardrobe that you haven’t worn in a long time, but they are mixed up with the dresses you wore yesterday !! Just turn opposite side to those hanger where the dress that you have worn and this is how you will be able to organize which one to go to the washer and dryer later on.

Some half used moisturizers and lipstick you bought long time ago, it is time to do something about them, either remove or replace it cuz, you might not aware their expiry date as of today right? You don’t need to, just get over with it.

Now focus your phone, to much chaos there, well let me help you- remove all the unused apps that you did not open in long time, remove the photos from your gallery those are duplicate and unnecessary. Organize all the necessary and important emails into a folder. Delete those spam and other unnecessary items. Unfollow the social media channels that does not bring any values to your life.

May be there are some items in your room that has a memory attached to it right? Ask yourself are they bring positive emotions or positive value to yourself? If not then reduce those memory reminder items or boxes or cards or whatever ( I hope you understand what im trying to say). IF you keep some item from a toxic relationship then those things will always bring those toxic memories to you from your past. Remove them , discard the emotional attachment from the things that doesn’t bring any value. Keep only the positive memory. Organize your bed and everything, use boxes to store some and tidy up your room table and change the color of the bed covers also. 

Day 4:  Focus on your Hydration and Nourishment

Hydration is very important i tell you !! It improves brain health , mental clarity and for your glowing skin. This day make a routine for regular water intake routine and create a base line for yourself that  “I’ll not go a single day without 1 Liter of water each day”. 1 Liter each day sounds huge but it is necessary dears !! You will feel the difference in your mind and body after that. And a pro tip: Try to drink 1 glass of water every morning in empty stomach. I do this everyday and it is so much good energy booster and has so many health effects!! Ill write about them another day.

Nourish yourself with nutrient rich foods like nuts,  green vegetables, and some high proteins like eggs and berries. Increase your antioxidant intake levels, it oxidative stress in the body and helps our cells to retain youth (Trust me, I’m a Pharmacist). Don’t forget to take electrolyte drinks and my advice to you for that, instead of processed drinks, try coconut water, its natural electrolyte drinks and cheaper depending on where you live. Avoid sugar and sugary drinks, drink green tea which is antioxidant and also improve metabolism.  

Day 5: Digital Detoxification

Digital detoxification is my favorite because my life had been significantly improved after deactivated many social media and reduction of my time in the digital devices, instead focusing on self improvement , reading books, journaling, exercising, going to the nature, talking to the real people increased a lot of confidence and overall well being of human.
On day 5 try to cultivate this habit, of not touching or peeking into social media or any devices. This day might feel tough and painful but you will reap the benefits of your sacrifices. 

Engage in some activity like reading books, going into nature or walk with your pets, you also can spend the day doing nothing by enjoying the pure silence of the mind and noise that comes from the digital world. 

Day 6: Morning Stretch & Gratitude

Start your morning with a little bit of stretching. Stretching has many benefits, let me tell you some of them. Stretching significantly increases our muscles flexibility and joint mobility. It also helps maintaining a balanced posture and improves blood circulation. Stretching also improves muscle recovery in our body. You shall feel more relaxed and stress free and happy after a little bit of stretching session.

As for the gratitude , it will set up your mind into path of positivity, remember and speak 5 things you are grateful for this day. Speak them loudly and be grateful what you have instead of what you don’t. 

Day 7: Recharge yourself and Reflection

On day 7, your task is simple, is to rest and recharge your soul battery and reflect on the last 7 days. Like, what you have done, how you achieve it, give yourself a good treat this day, be proud of yourself, take this day a rest day. Resting recovers us , tis great recovery for mind and body.

Day 8: Self affirmation and positivity

On day 8 start with self affirmation and removing self doubt from your mind, keep saying i can, instead of I cant. And re affirm your confidence in yourself also. Keep the positive self talk continue as it is easy for you now this time.

Day 9-10: Physical exercise

From day 9 and 10, dedicate these 2 days for physical activity, either going to gym or home exercise, or going to walk, or sports you name it. Do any kind of activity that involves your physical labor. Do not go too hard on yourself, 30 minutes to 1 hour is enough and don’t forget to take rest in between sessions. 

Day 11: Try to learn something new

Either it is a new sports, new hobbies, new language or new dish, try something new at this point of your self improvement challenge. Human being are designed to improve by learning. Which i mean that if we don’t learn continuously we will never improve our life , no matter what we do. It is very important part of cultivating continuous learning habits. You can sign up for any online classes even. Learn something of whatever you like. There are so many free courses are there in the internet. But Learn something new today.

Day 12-13: Practice Mindfulness and Meditation

In order to practice meditation and mindfulness, dedicate this entire day in a calm place , or your room even. Just close your eyes and focus on your breath. Take a deep breath and exhale with your mouth. You can continue this in 5 minutes, but overtime you can increase the time of meditation. Breathing control and grounding is good meditation. My personal favorite is, If you have opportunity to walk barefoot into the soil or beach, this is also a form of meditation. It helps grounding and increase nervous system health in good way. 

Day 14: Just do a random act of kindness

The fulfillment of a healthy human being depends on giving, we feel more fulfillment to yourselves while giving instead of taking, think about it. Giving doesnt means just spreading money, your time and valuable input into someone else’s life to solve their ongoing problem is also i consider as a random act of kindness and giving. You can help your mom or siblings today. You can also donate money to some homeless people or buy some food who haven’t eaten a good meal for the last 2 days in the street. It’s a beautiful thing to do, trust me dears !!

Day 15-16:  Check your daily finance and budget your expenditure

Go for a thorough check for your spendings and savings, try to fix what can be your goal in terms of saving and spending, always keep a balance there. Long time since you did not give your attention to this subject, today is the day. Do it. Try to make some saving plan and cut off unnecessary spendings !! Sit with yourself and write them all down at this part of your challenge this day. 

Day 17,18-19: Start a new hobby

Remember, the last winter or spring, you thought or promised yourself that you were going to start a new hobby, weather its knitting, guitar, piano, painting or even photography !! 🙂
Yes im trying to knock your mind, we all do this and then we give up. But no!! Today is the day, without planning and thinking , just start your hobby. That’s it!! Just doing it by starting immediately with force YouTube continue and avoids procrastination. 

Start your hobby and focus the next 3 days into your hobbies and share me what is your hobbies. 

Day 20: Develop and Practice Self- Compassion

You might ask me, Bee!! What do you mean? Look oftentime we deprive ourself from forgiving ourselves and show kindness to us. Look, if we dont love ourselves, no one is gonna love is, if we donot take care of ourselves, no one is gonna. Once you love yourselves, appreciate yourself, then you will start noticing positive changes around you, you will feel good and also people around you will start to appreciate and increase in love. I honestly dont know why does this happens but it does happen , i’ve seen this phenomenon a lot. And we deserve our best love first of all. Because it is us who went through all the hardship and struggles in our difficult time. You might think im crazy, but im not. Self care is a means of self respect. If you abandon yourself, simply you can’t improve your life.
So at 20th day of self improvement challenge Practice self compassion. 

30-Day Self-Improvement Challenge

Day 21: This day is day of cleaning (deep cleaning i mean)

Dedicate this day for cleaning only, your old dresses, new dresses , wardrobe, bed covers, your fridge, the tables and other neglected places in your room or home, or even bathroom !! just do a thorough clean schedule this day. Then clean yourself after you complete your cleaning mission. Good worm shower.
You will feel so relaxed and light after this day, thank me later. Im happy for your unburden feelings which you will enjoy at this point. Yeasss, you did it. Lets continue, we are almost done finishing our challenge.

Day 22: Go to the nature

I always emphasize going into nature or reconnecting ourselves with the nature. Nature is the best healers, and at this point of challenge you deserve it and need it most. At day 22 go to the park , spend time there, walk barefoot, touch the trees, touch the flowers the greens walk in the grass, smell those aroma of the nature and dedicate your day for it. It doesn’t mean that you have to be alone!! You can do this nature day as a picnic day with your family or friends. If any of you caught fish or go fishing at this day, please share the picture of what you caught!! Share me in insta or Pinterest!! I feel so loved when you share your memories after reading my blogs, it bring me happiness, and I love fishing by the way! Day 23-24: Reduce or restrict negative influence around you

Girls, (cuz mostly my readers are girls) negativity, negative environment, negative things or people drain your energy and leave you empty!! Do you understand the importance of surround yourself in positive environment? By being in positive environment you only guarantee your growth, nothing else! So remove negative things, environment or people from your life, who brings no value to your life except pain and waste of time. You deserve better. Dont be emotional to do so, let your emotion be your best friend not the enemy !! You are smart to understand what i am saying. So day 23-24 this is your challenge for self improvement journey to remove negative things, influence, environment and everything from your radius. 

Day 25:  Set back and reflect your journey so far

On day 25 ask yourself these questions – What has changed over the past 24 days? What are you proud of at this very moment? Write them down, Also ask yourself , what could you have done better? Find your shortcomings and write them down, and also stop repeating the same mistake at this point.

So, this is a day of self reflection, i believe you have already starting to feel different and getting feedback about improved version of yourself from your surroundings. Reflect upon them, it will increase more. 

Day 26: Plan a trip or adventure for the future

After self reflection day you should plan a future adventure , weather be it a road trip, a weekend gateway or cozy trip to somewhere in the woods, camping or going to places you wanted to go long time, plan it, cuz this will bring more inspiration to yourself and incentivize you on this 30 day self improvement challenge. Also it will bring joy to you.

Day 27-28: It’s time for celebration for your winning!

Congratulations !! You have come so far to this challenge and you deserve a warm love from me. I suggest you at this stage of your challenge you can celebrate your victory in whatever the way you want to celebrate. With friends or family and loved one, just do a celebration in whatever way you want, also share your achievement till this day with your loved ones as a gesture of celebrations! 

You’ve come so far, and it’s time to celebrate! Take yourself out for a treat or indulge in some self-care.

Day 29: Reorganize your Space (both digital and physical)

Just an end check for the previous organized stage, I mean recheck if any disorganized things in your room and devices are, follow the steps you did in day 2-3.

Day 30: Finish your challenge with a Big Gratitude

Congratulations my dears, you just have successfully finished your 30 – day self improvement challenge!!! I am proud of you all and end this day with deep gratitude to your self and give yourself a treat this day, its your new journey, new beginning of you successful version of yourself. Reflect all the positive things and difficulties that you overcome to come to the finishing point of this journey. Write all them down and continue to nurturing yourself for the rest of your life!! Now you know yourself better than anyone.

Final Thoughts:

I congratulate you firstly for your bravery and self consciousness, because without these you wouldn’t have thought about self improvement at all in the first place. Now I tried to guide you to continue the push that came from your thoughts. This 30 day self improvement challenge is not about only a challenge and perfection, it is all about the continuous progress of yourself. Every small steps you put forward into this , it will bring you closer to the best version of yourself that you desire from yourself. 

Keep in mind that you are always evolving, each day is a fresh chance to grow and development.
